Privacy Policy
Effective July 15, 2026
Tomo is built for private sharing between people who know each other. This policy explains what information the Tomo mobile app, share extension, private box web experience, and related services collect and how we use it.

01Information Tomo handles+
Tomo does not require an account. When you first use the app, it creates a random installation identifier and a secret credential. The credential is stored in your device Keychain and only a secure hash is stored on our servers. We also receive your device platform, locale, time zone, and basic service timestamps.
To provide a box, we process the names you enter for sender and recipient, your note, the opening date, box appearance, and the things you choose to add: text, letters, selected photos, music or web links, and place or map links. We also record events such as when a box is sent, first viewed, opened, or completed.
02Photos, places, and device access+
Tomo only receives photos you deliberately select with Apple's photo picker. Tomo does not scan your photo library. A place in Tomo is text or a map link that you choose to share; Tomo does not request or collect your live or precise location.
Sound and haptic preferences stay on your device. Tomo's share extension can receive a link or text only when you choose Tomo from the iOS share sheet.
03How information is used and shared+
We use this information only to create, synchronize, protect, deliver, and open boxes; determine the correct local opening day; maintain the service; prevent abuse; and respond to support requests.
Each box uses an unguessable private link. Before opening day, someone with the link can see box metadata such as the sender and recipient names, note, opening date, item count, and limited item-type hints, but not the contents. On or after opening day, a person with the link can open and view the contents. Only share a box link with the intended recipient.
04Service providers and advertising+
Tomo uses Cloudflare to run its API, database, private media storage, networking, security, and operational logging. Apple provides the App Store, iOS, Keychain, photo picker, and share sheet. These providers may process technical information under their own terms and privacy commitments.
Tomo does not contain third-party advertising, does not use third-party behavioral analytics SDKs, and does not sell or rent your personal information.
05Storage, security, and deletion+
Box records are stored in Cloudflare D1 and selected photos are kept in private Cloudflare R2 storage. Photo responses are marked private and are not served before the box is opened. We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no online service can guarantee absolute security.
We keep information for as long as needed to provide Tomo and maintain the boxes you and recipients expect to revisit. To request access, correction, or deletion, email us. Because Tomo has no account, we may ask for details that reasonably verify your relationship to the data, such as the relevant private link or installation information.
06Children, transfers, and changes+
Tomo is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum digital consent age in their country, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can review and remove it.
Information may be processed in countries other than your own where our providers operate. We may update this policy as Tomo changes. We will post the revised policy here and update its effective date.
THE AGREEMENT

By downloading, accessing, or using Tomo, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use Tomo.
01Using Tomo+
You must be at least 13, or the minimum age required in your country, to use Tomo. You may use the service only in compliance with applicable law and these terms. Tomo currently provides its core service without requiring a personal account.
02Your content+
You keep ownership of the words, photos, and links you add. You give us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, process, transmit, and display that content only as needed to operate Tomo. You are responsible for having the rights and permissions needed to share your content and any personal information about another person.
03Private links+
A Tomo box is accessed through a private, unguessable link. Anyone who receives that link may be able to view box metadata and, on or after opening day, its contents. You are responsible for sharing links carefully. Contact support promptly if a link was shared with the wrong person.
04Acceptable use+
Do not use Tomo to harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, defraud, violate privacy or intellectual-property rights, distribute unlawful or harmful material, probe the service, bypass access controls, or interfere with other people or the service. We may restrict or remove content or access when reasonably necessary to protect people, Tomo, or comply with law.
05Availability and changes+
Tomo is provided on an as-available basis. Features may change as the product develops, and we may suspend parts of the service for security, maintenance, or legal reasons. We do not promise that the service will always be uninterrupted or that every private link or box will remain available forever; keep your own copies of anything you cannot afford to lose.
06Disclaimers and liability+
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tomo is provided without warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of content, data, goodwill, or profits. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot legally be limited.
07Ending use and updates+
You may stop using Tomo at any time. You can contact support to request deletion of information connected to you. We may update these terms and will post the new version here with a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
